From Shakespeare and Modern Australian Art to Markets and Jazz: Ellenbrook Festival a success!
The five-week long inaugural Ellenbrook Festival has been deemed a fantastic success by organisers and festival goers alike.
Winding up over the weekend with a jazz sundowner, featuring Libby Hammer and Hip Mo’ Toast, and open-air performances of Shakespeare’s Othello, Festival Manager Heather Awcock said the feedback for all events had been extremely positive.
“We had an estimated 7000 plus people come to the various festival events, which for a festival in its first year has been great.
“Visitors were not only residents from the local areas, but we also had people from all over the Perth metropolitan area and the country travel to Ellenbrook for the various events,” Ms Awcock said.
The Ellenbrook Festival was launched on October 24th with the opening of the prestigious Treasures from the Tarrawarra Museum of Art exhibition in The Gallery on Ellenbrook’s Main Street. Other events over the five weeks of the festival included a World of Culture Day and a highly successful Market Day.
“Ellenbrook has so much to offer and it has been such a pleasure in seeing visitors to Ellenbrook being amazed at our community, our facilities and our events,” Ms Awcock said.
It is planned that the festival will become a bi-annual event and the festival organisers are seeking feedback from the community as to what they think worked well and what they would like to see in festivals in the future. Feedback can be emailed to ellenbrookfestival@lwpproperty.com.au
